40 cent Posted December 15, 2004 Share Posted December 15, 2004 Hey guys, although training is going to ease up for christmas at the end of this week, im rather dedicated to improvement at the moment. Im training in kyokushin and won the Australian lightweight novice nationals recently. I want to keep in top shape and i have a hell of a lot i want to improve. i realise i cant go over the top, but im doing strength work in the gym, and going to karate 3-5 times a week, and im recovering from this ok. So, im thinking of gradually adding in extra workout sessions. i was thinking of the following routines: Monday: Skipping-2 minute light. 15 second rest. 2 minute pepper Light stretching/light kicks Shadow Fighting to loosen up Heavy bag: Outside drill-circling both ways using jabs, reverse punch etc-3 * 1 minute rounds. 15 second rest Skipping- 1 minute knee raises Stretching kicks: Knee kicks, front, side, back. 10 each leg for each kick Front kick: 20 each leg. Heavy bag: 15 each leg Sit ups: 3 sets-varied exercises Push ups: max Conditioning- Stomach&chest-2 minutes Deep stretching Each day i will keep the skipping, stretching etc the same and i will change the bag work to: Tuesday: Heavy bag: Inside drill: Hooks, uppercuts, bob n weave. Roundhouse: 20 each leg. Heavy bag: 15 each leg Conditioning: Shins Wednesday: Heavy bag: Jabs Side kicks: 20 each leg. Heavy bag: 15 each leg Conditioning: Stomach Thursday: Heavy Bag: Speed drill(min 4 punch combos) Hard drill, speed drill. Front, Roundhouse, Side kicks: Chamber/Hold kicks. 5 each leg. Conditioning: Shins Friday: Bag workout: 3 2 minute rounds using all techniques Any help, inclusions, deletions or suggestions are appreciated.
