I don't care about self defense that much anymore, i like to learn a art, preserve it and may be pass it on one day, that's why i ended up with a traditional style, I also practice other styles just to gain some basic knowledge.

I started when I was 24 and do martial arts for self defense and physical fitness. I also like the history and philosophy behind the arts. :karate:

I started for fitness and fun, ... and I'm still there for these reasons. Unfortunately I started late (almost 42) if I would have started earlier I would have tried the competition side but now it's too late.

Anyway MAs are a lot of fun and this is the reason why I cross train mostly because in this way I can fill my week with MA lessons.

I really have thought about this alot and I don't know why I train martial arts. I guess it's because I strive to be better then I was yesterday, every day.

hello!

i do martial arts to stimulate my mental sharpness and, since i live in such a small town, there is not much in the challenging feild. sure, there are your typical school sports and the honor academic classes, and some skateboarding parks aroung, but nothing that really challeneges mentally and physically.

i was five when i started.

shodan - Shotokan

Blue Belt - Jiu-Jitsu

Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care the themself without that law is both. For wounded man shall say to his assailant, if I live I will kill you, If I die you are forgiven-- such is the rule of Honor.
