Hi, I was wandering if someone uses lateral guard (Bill Wallace style) during sparring.

I don't know much about this guy, and obviously that guard worked for him, but when I look at it I just see that rear guard being pressed followed by a swift punch in the face...not my cup of tea.

not the best in my opinion but its a good Idea to sample all things in sparring prior to being faced with a real situation.

A True Martial Arts Instructor is more of a guide than anything, on your way to developing the warrior within yourself!!!!!

I agree. It's good to try different things, especially in the dojo/dojang/gym/wherever. It's the ideal place to try differences in stance, guard etc when sparring. If you try something new and it doesn't work then fair enough. However, if you try something new and it works for you then that's a bonus!
