Sinar89 Posted December 9, 2004 Posted December 9, 2004 heres the thing, i got a pretty good amount of muscle on me. i know how to tone my arms, chest and all that stuff but not to sure bout my legs. there not really fat or anything but i do have some fat there and i was wanting to know the best way to tone them. for my legs i do several workouts but my main one is squats. only problem is that i don't want them to get my legs bigger, just tone. i also bycycle for 30 mins (stationary bike) will that tone good or no? thanks for any info
steveb Posted December 9, 2004 Posted December 9, 2004 Biking and running will both tone your legs. If you have fat on your legs you can't make it go away by working your legs. The fat doesn't "belong" to your legs, it belongs to your whole body. The only way to get rid of fat is to consistently do cardio exercises, at least 30 mins each day for 4 or 5 days a week. SevenStar Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 pretty much what steve said. technically speaking, there is no such thing as "tone". you either have low body fat or you don't. If you don't, you doin't see striations of developed muscle, unless they are flexed. "tone" is merely developed muscle with low bodyfat.
evan90 Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 I know a few exercises that could probably help you. Got any messenger? "When your hand goes out, stay your anger; when anger goes out, stay your hand."-Taika Seiyu Oyata

username4 Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 do cardio as they say but i do just TKD and that works fine for me but then i had very little fat to begin with and i had HUGE leg muscles from the TON of mountain bikein i did the summer before last. o ya could some of you ppl give me some cardio exercises i have a thin sheet of fat obscureing my six pack (if i even have one but i workin on this)
DokterVet Posted December 12, 2004 Posted December 12, 2004 Try HIIT. Do a search on the internet for it, you will find plenty of information. It is better than aerobic excersize for both conditioning, and fat loss. Agreed with others though. No such thing as toning. If your goal is to be 'toned,' the best way will be using bodybuilding methods (bulk/cut cycles).
