I'm going to move this to the Chinese Arts forum, but I do want to say this:

You may find some online resources for Tai chi, but it's extremely difficult to learn even the basics of a martial art that is new to you over the internet...and quite possibly even harder to attempt to teach someone that art. If you have no real-life background in the art, it's going to be pretty difficult.

Maybe a good place to start would be with some basic videos, so you can imitate motions instead of/in addition to reading about them.

Good luck, hope you find what you're looking for.

Even if you have the best video in the world the Chinese neija or internal arts are not going to be learned without a proper instructor. There far too many intricate details involved that can only be learned by instruction from someone qualified to teach the respective internal style.

A block is a strike is a lock is a throw.

Thanks but i read and watched many KF movies but they don't really appy in real life fighting also the instructors are very expensive

Don't go picking a fight unless you are 200% you will win.

If you really want to try and learn from some tapes, then I would suggest you try learning YOGA. Your not going to learn how to fight or self defense from yoga, but it will be a lot easier to learn than trying to learn a martial art without an instructor.

A True Martial Arts Instructor is more of a guide than anything, on your way to developing the warrior within yourself!!!!!

Some of the teaching videos are okay. but you probably won't get much of the internal stuff.

Tai-chi.com has the largest selection of tai chi stuff. keep in mind that tai chi is not like *any* korean or japanese arts. the muscle usage is completely different. Never use a tight muscle for anything: your movements should be slow fluid and relaxed. Your tkd/karate will suffer and get sloppy but if you do tai chi and do it well you can probably make the transition to Kung fu. Jet Li's styles are TKD and Tai Chi.

Yang style is the easiest of the lot. unless you can find someone who can teach it to you (most kung fu guang dos also offer a tai chi/qi gong session) your best bet would be the 88 manuever form. there are several tapes but make sure you get one that shows from a right rear oblique, front and rear views and repeats moves. stay away from the 'competition' forms as these are for retired gymnasts and are much more difficult even for masters of the forms.

I totally agree, the forms has too many details to be learnt from a video, and also someone should watch also how you make the movement if you are relaxed or fluind, if you have proper timing, proper weight balance... it is too complicated to learn it from a tape even more complicated then any external MA.

Hi Zhong Gau you listed Tui Na among your styles.. isn't that chinese massage?
