Ever heard of this guy?

Recommended Posts

My Instructor sent out an e-mail about a year back just to say high to all of his friends, students, collegues, etc. Soon after, we all got a very insulting response from some guy that I had never heard of. This guy insulted my Instructor and every one of his students. He claimed that he was the only Native American Grandmaster. It got me mad!

I did a search of his name on Google and came up with his website: https://www.adrianroman.com

I browsed it for a little while and came across a page that was about the Black Belt Factoryest thing that I've seen since Grandmaster Won's Tae Kwon Do in Oklahoma City: http://www.adrianroman.com/Distant_learning.htm

Does this seem weird to anyone else? I mean, my Instructor has moved to another town to far to commute, and I still want to learn from him. But i'm already ranked under him, i just need some more stuff to practice. This seems absurd to me!

My questions are: Have you ever heard of this guy? Is this legit? Was he right or wrong in sending a large insulting e-mail to all of my Instructor's students? Would you pay $1000 for a Black Belt? How would you react if someone told you that they bought a Black Belt off of the internet?

PS, wasn't sure which category this belonged under, Karate, Chinese, Humor, that's why i put it in General.

It looks like a complete crap.

I don't believe in learning things out of a regular class then if you think you can buy let's say 10 MA DVDs for about 300$ and a Black Belt for 5$ you have an idea also of the actual value of the things you are buying.

I've heard of him. Send $1000.00 and you get all the videos And a black belt AND a suitable for framing black belt certificate. Just add water!

He's a joke. But for those who think the government should step in and regulate the martial arts, take a good look at his site! This is your future if you get waht you want. 'Chief' Roman has been recognized officially by more than one state legislature!

Personally, I think he's a blight on Native American culture, American Kenpo, and the martial arts in general. But he does have a really cool buckskin ghi!

Freedom isn't free!

I've seen his ad's in some of the magazines, just crazy trying to sell his product.

I cant believe he sent e-mails to your instructors students, thats just going to far, obviously there is a RESPECT ISSUE here and this guy must not have respect for other martial artists and thats a sign right there that should make some red flags start poping up about him and his so called distance learning black belt program.

I wish his long distant students luck in their martial arts training, BECAUSE THEIR GOING TO NEED IT!!!!!!!!!!!

A True Martial Arts Instructor is more of a guide than anything, on your way to developing the warrior within yourself!!!!!
