nfl2k2
In an attempt to optimize my own workout schedule, I thought it would be best to take a look at other martial artists weekly routines, and change mine accordingly. Include everything from body exercises, weight training, and of course MA training. Also include your height/weight, and if you have a specific diet post that too. I'll start things off 6'0, 177lbs Monday - Karate Tuesday – Shoulders/Biceps/Chest Wednesday – Karate Thursday – Chest/Triceps/Back Friday - Off Saturday – Karate Sunday – Biceps/Triceps/Legs Diet: consume lot's of protein and fruit. Creatine before and after every workout.

ROB
Looking at the wokout weeks posted, just wondering why fighters, train weight programs like bodybuilders, ie splilt routines, individual body part workouts ! Are you training to look better, or perform better as a martial artist? In all your martial art work be it stand up or grappling, the body works as a complete unit, so why train it legs one day chest, back and shoulders the next ect. I understand why a body builder would do this for better muscle recovery and growth, but a fighter ? Full body workouts mixing anerobic & aerobic functions, has to be the way to go for martial artists. ROBO

Hudson
Currently my schedule for working out is Monday - Chest, Shoulders, Legs Wednesday - Back (Yes, back gets its own day.) Friday - Biceps, triceps, forearms. This is only because of recent availability changes - Friday I only have access to my own personal equipment (I don't have a bench press or a lat tower, or a leg press) so I do arms with dumbells. Monday I do chest and shoulders because I believe there is a strong connection between the two and they should be trained together. Wednesday I do back - why? I love back. It deserves it's own day. Of course, abs everyday, and always doing something with a light dumbell when I'm extremely bored (Or on these forums). Also, lots of cardio. Lots. Bike and running. As far as diet - Clean food, plenty of water and protein. Yes, my workout is a split - I think it works better this way. The game of chess is much like a swordfight; you must think before you move. Taku-Shimazu
I train nearly everyday in the forest and i also find it most effective when training in a waist deep stream in the forest near my house. It helps speed and also mental strength. The cool summer breeze passes me by.
