I have been reading a book called "Living the Martial Way". This book talks about if you want to become a well rounded and effective Martial Artist or warrior you must be dedicated to your art or arts. It is a good book and I suggest reading it.

"Do not seek to follow in the footsteps of the wise. Seek what they sought."

Basho

"To win one hundred victories in one hundred battles is not the highest skill. To subdue the enemy without fighting is the highest skill."

Yes, that indeed is a good book. Should be required reading for students of the martial arts, in my opinion :karate:

I've read that book, and I liked a lot of what it said. It really speaks to me, a member of the armed services, and what it means to truly be a warrior, as opposed to someone who just does martial arts. It was one of the few books that I've read and voiced a lot of the same opinions that I've had for a while.

You can buy it at just about any book store. I got it at Barnes and Nobles.

No I don't think so on amazon is about 12$.

It is a good book maybe a little too extreme in some views but not much.
