You take MA to learn how to defend yourself at the right times. You did just that. If you start questioning yourself too much you just might hesitate next time when it really matters and you'll end up being the one with the busted buns.

You done good. Don't doubt yourself!

Sounds to me that you did the right thing but you could stick around and tell him you won't take crap from him anymore. Anyway don't fell bad about kicking him that was probably the best lesson he had since starting school.

Yes I agree too. After he stopped to act verbally and started to hit you, the best thing to do is using self defence skill with the due moderation, if he was already down after the first kick you have done better not to hit him again with stomp kick.

Just remember.....words, although they can be hurtful.....simply dissapear once they are uttered.....anyone within earshot probably thinks less of the person who's doing the name calling then the person receiving the verbal excuse.....however.....once the instigator choses the more physical approach, and enters into your "circle".....thats a different story.......never swing first......if you notice....all of the katas start with a defensive movment.....you are being trained to "react", not "act".......Once your opponent chooses to go physical.......do what youre trained to do.....defend yourself, and respond with just enough force to ensure that the opponent will have serious second thoughts about "pestering" you again. Im not telling you to beat him into a senseless bloody pile, but give him a bit of a spanking so to speak. Violence is never the real answer, but sometimes its the only language that bullies speak......

Unfortunately true. For some people all the talking in the world won't make a difference. They have to be shown that not everyone will tolerate their crap.
