Shui Tora Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 I accept the attendance of pain, and use what I feel from it to keep me going... However, if it gets too much, then I will stop...There is no point in damaging your body, then not being able to train for weeks as you kept on going...The idea is to understand when your body has had enough... To know the road ahead; ask those coming back... ~ Chinese Proverb" The ultimate aim of Karate lies not in victory or defeat, but in the perfection of the character of its participants. MizuRyu Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 My personal strategy has always been to just not care. I put my goals up high enough that I tend to just ignore pain and injuries until I'm done doing what I want. When I first started BJJ I rolled my hand and heard a pop and ignored it. Turned out I broke my pinky "They look up, without realizing they're standing in the palm of your hand""I burn alive to keep you warm"
patusai Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 Pain is your body telling you something. One way or another you have to listen to it. One way or another you either take care of it or it takes care of you. That's the realist in me. The man in men says work through it. The man in me (where my foot is concerned) lost. Now the man in me has to deal with the consequences. "Don't tell me the sky's the limit because I have seen footprints on the moon!" -- Paul Brandt
