foreveryoung001 Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 Detroit Red Wings hockey I'm with you on that one. It was opening night last night wasn't it? I think so, but I'm trying to forget right now. Trying to focus on a .500 season with the Lions. They looked good on Sunday I forgot to add one. The way my 4 year old daughter smiles at me when I get home from work. Student: "Why did you hit that guy with a chair? Why didn't you use your karate?"Master: "Hitting him with a chair was the only karate I could think of at the time."Lesson: Practice until you don't have to think.

OldRookie Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 Have to agree with my children's laughter also....And~~camping out on clear nights with a zillion stars overhead & the only sound is owls in the distance~~the smell of fresh coffee in the morning~~chocolate chip cookies hot from the oven~~unexpected snow, silently covering the trees & hills around my house~~my family telling me how great i did & giving me hugs after a tournament--even if i don't get the 6ft trophy... *1st Dan Oct 2004*"Progress lies not enhancing what is, but in advancing toward what will be.""It is better to deserve honors and not have them than to have them and not deserve them."
aefibird Posted October 27, 2004 Author Posted October 27, 2004 ~~my family telling me how great i did & giving me hugs after a tournament--even if i don't get the 6ft trophy... Families are great, aren't they? Well, most of the time... When I was a teenager I entered a lot of horsetrials and showjumping competitions. I once entered this rather large showjumping competition, but the horse I was riding can only be described as being "completely and utterly insane" (much like the rider ). Well, me and this hose had more problems going round that showjumping course than a little. We finished in last place in the competition, with what seemed like ten thousand penalty points. Still, my family came rushing up to me afterwards and told me how great I'd been and that they were all really proud of me. So, no 6ft trophy for me on that day, but I had the love of my family, which is more important than any trophy in the world. "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..." senna_trem Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 Driving my friend home and always making each other laugh during the short trip. The flowers of spring growing in the garden- dewdrops, daffodils, crocuses. Having the entire family home for christmas. Warm sunshine on a cold day through the windows of a car. Freshly painted toenails. Playing croquet on a lawn that is way too hilly to be playing on. Sitting in a room full of people that you like. Cooking a good meal. Getting home on a friday and being able to turn the alarm off. "I think therefore I am" Rene Descartes
Kaminari Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 The feeling of accomplishment you get after a MA class. Sunsets. A warm cat sleeping in your lap. The smell and look of a long walk through the forest.
