Eriku
Howdy, I'm 99% sure I've broken my left foot's big toe last week during sparring (front kick aimed at opponent's abs -- the dumb*ss blocked by lifting his leg so I hit his knee ). I've never seen such swollen horror lemme tell you.. and it's black/blueish all around. Although it's healing well after applying the R-I-C-E method, it still hurts when I try to run or jump. I'm getting concerned since I have to go to a tournament at the end of the month. I was wondering what you guys recommend to do to continue training? aefibird
I broke my left big toe just ofer a year ago whilst fighting in a competition. It was sore and painful for a good few months afterwards. Keep on going with the R-I-C-E method of treatment and make sure that you strap it up. Train lightly, especially upper body work. Try practicing kicking if you can cope with it, but stop if it hurts too much. That goes for any training - if it is making your toe hurt more then stop. Better to rest completely than risk further injury. Even if you can't make it to the tournament at the end of the month, then its no big deal - it's better to not enter and let your toe heal properly, rather than enter and damage it further. There'll always be other tournaments. "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..." The Beautiful South - The Rose of My CologneSheffield Steelers! Rich67
By RICE-ing it and taking it easy, it will heal up on its own. But if you overly aggravate it, a foot cast may be necessary...stay off it, or you may be even more incapacitated. Mixed Martial Artist
