Hudson Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 Yesterday I had a guy murder my wrists with blocks, must of been some Iron Forearm or something. Anyway, now I have this pain in my wrist if I try to do a pushup or walk on my hands... what kind of injury is this? I hope it goes away before next class. foreveryoung001 Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 Unfortunetly with your wrist it can be quite a number of problems. I had a similar experience many years ago, and to this day, if the weather is just so, I still feel a sharp pain... too the point where I can't do much with it, no push-ups, I can't even pick up a bottle of water without it hurting. The rest of the time, I don't feel a thing. Most likely, after taking a pounding like that, its probobly just inflamed, take some ibuprofin, use some ice on it, and don't push it to hard for a few day. If the pain doesn't go away fairly quickly, then you will want to see a doctor. There are several small bones in your wrist, and if you broke one, which ultimately is what I did, then you'll want to have that taken care of correctly. I didn't go to the doctor about ym wrist until years later, and I think that has something to do with why I still feel pain from time to time. Student: "Why did you hit that guy with a chair? Why didn't you use your karate?"Master: "Hitting him with a chair was the only karate I could think of at the time."Lesson: Practice until you don't have to think.
aefibird Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 I'd recommend that you see a doctor or other healthcare professional. Also, use the R-I-C-E method of treatment - Rest Ice Compression Elevation Rest it, put ice on it, strap it up and keep it rested on something as much as possible. "Was it really worth it? Hudson Posted October 19, 2004 Author Posted October 19, 2004 I'll probably hold on the doctor trip. It feels fine now, it was probably just bruised. The game of chess is much like a swordfight; you must think before you move.
