Maddwraph
that takes a lot of practice. probably th ebest to start off with though is to do a handstand agaisnt the wall, and do push ups that way so u can build off ur shoulders since its really ur shoulders which will be a huge part in holding urself ina handstand. after that, u just have to practice the old fashion way by putting ur hands on the ground, and throwing ur legs up to try and hold urself. it takes lot of practice. they also say to fall over the first time so u lose the fear, but make sure u can hold urself with ur arms when u fall so u dont hit ur neck and back. hope that helps. Im brasilian, but live in the united states. Really enjoying martial arts.
TheDevilAside
Yes, once you believe you've built up your muscles to the point where you can sustain a hand-stand for longer periods of time, then it becomes more of a matter of technique in order to mantain balance and all that. Do that simply by doing what Madd suggested. Oh yeah, this is probably going to be a "duh" for you, but it wasn't for me when I first started doing this stuff. Make SURE you're in a safe enveironment, get rid of stuff you can fall on, it would be great if the ground were padded at first. When I first tried doing hand-stand push ups I conntected my hip very nicely with the corner of my desk. Jbone1
Yeah I figured to those. I do them but just not enough reps and sets. I should be more consistant. Thanks guys. Bleeding Lion
The suggestions given to you are good. Let me add a few. make sure you have the right technique first. when you do a hand stand (at least in gymnastic) make sure your you legs are closed, straight, and more importantly the tip of your toes pointing out. everything should be in a line except your head. your forehead should point foward as if you were trying to look foward. if you dont do it you'll tend to roll foward. Hand stands is a balance exercise so the more important group muscle is your abs, only then its your arms. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence thus, is not an act, but a habit. --- Aristotle
Jbone1
Yeah^ I been noticing that in my sets. The abs are real key, the only thing I need to be more consistant with is looking forward. Thanks guys a lot I'm already seeing improvements. "What's your style?""My style?""You can call it the art of fighting without fighting."
