Britnoob, I can recommend a couple of good books by Anita Bean - Strength Training, and Sports Nutrition - these give a lot of advice both on bulking and on cutting.

Ugh! You've got to be kidding me! No wonder my research wasn't going anywhere! :x Until now, I thought you guys were talking about another type of "Vitamin S"... an acid (and I was pretty confused what that had to do with gaining weight) called salicylate, which used used in toothpase and acne medication...

yea... you just need to eat more and start lifting. you lost weight because you cut out the crap, yea, but if you want to bulk up you need to eat in bulk. there are a ton of threads in here allready about that kinda thing, diet and lifting and so on.
