Wearing ankle weights?

Recommended Posts

Lately I've been trying to put on lean muscle mass.I do all the regular stuff, lift weights, cardio, eating right, training, and taking supplements(whey protein and paradecca).I went out and bought some new ankle weights, and a weighted vest.I wear these while I work.My question is,how long is too long?I've been wearing the vest for about six hours, and the ankle weights for the entire shift(8 hrs).Is this too much?I've heard of people have having knee problems because of this, but I haven't experienced any.

thanks in advance

Just don't kick the bag while wearing the ankle weights and you should be alright.

Where would one get a vest? I use the ankle weights but never heard of a weighted vest. Do you feel like it helps?

Yeah, I've heard the same thing about ankle weights. I have some and used to just wear them while walking to and from wherever I was going. The only time I'd start to feel any strain (and it was more like fatigue than anything else) was after about 6-8 hours.

Just listen to your body's cues... if you're feeling any strain, take them off. Otherwise, you're probably fine.

As long as it's not some extreme weight, like some company's "200lb extreme vest", you should be fine, just dont be kicking with ankle weights unless you want a bad case of hyperextension.
