Shorin Ryuu Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 I told you, the Okinawa Program, a book you can get for relatively cheap, has a 4-week diet plan on it. More importantly, it gives you the nutritional know-how to know what foods to eat, why, and how. That way, you don't simply have to just take our word for it and merely eat something because someone said it was healthy. If you have solid nutritional knowledge, you can think for yourself and provide an endless menu of variety for yourself. Even though this is just one opinion, I find it's advice backed up by good researched and confirmed by other sources. That will help you far more than simply making a menu that you use merely because someone told you something was heathy. I know Sun Ti will back me up on this when I say that it is far better for you to learn and understand then simply follow what others tell you. And I think the Okinawa Program will help you do that. EDIT: Don't just see a doctor, see a nutritionist. Your doctor (if you ever see your doctor) will probably suggest this as well. Martial Arts Blog:http://bujutsublogger.blogspot.com/
TheDevilAside Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 Being obese, a lot of the time, has to do with laziness and lack of self-discipline. So, start improving those characteristics by: 1.) Doing your own research. Don't expect everyone on this forum to spoon feed you (again) the information. I especially can't stand your tone, "I WANT YOU TO DO THIS AND THIS AND THIS FOR ME!!!" 2.) Checking over your posts before you hit the submit button, for the love of coherence. That posts looks like you had a seizure while you were typing it up. I can't tell if you're just not proficient in English or if all of those spelling mistakes were typos. Either way, it helps to look up the word if you're not sure how to spell it. It can be done. ...and good luck. "If you're going through hell, keep going." - Sir Winston Churchill

Fish Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 It's good that you want to do something about it. Like the others said, there's lots of good literature out there. And some of it is reasonably obvious - like, cut down on junk food, Macyouknowwhos, sweets, coke etc. Eat plenty of fruit, fresh vegetables, water, drink plenty of water. And you have to eat less calories than you burn (one good way is to walk everywhere you can0. But you also need to get the right balance between complex carbohydrates (starchy foods) and proteins, a little bit of fat. And to get that right, you need to read up on it. I eat something like as follows: Breakfast: Muesli with fresh fruit Mid Morning: Piece of fruit Lunch: Sandwich or salad or baked potato with low fat filling Mid afternoon: Cereal bar Dinner: Rice or pasta with lean meat bolognese/ chilli Bear in mind that you don't just want a diet for weight loss. If you're exercising, you need to know about sports nutrition. Get a good book on it. Try it out for a month and let us know how you get on. All the best. Drunken Monkey Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 but isn't your doctor/nutrionalist supposed to do this? y'know set out a diet plan for you. my diet? i don't have any special diet. if you eat what i eat, you'd probably get worse. example: last night i had a rice-bowl portion of b&j chocolate fudge brownie ice cream AND a slice of summer fruit cheescake for dessert. and during last night i finished a 150g packet of bacon flavour crispies. i'm about 5' 5" and weight about 55-57 kgs. i don't eat anything special and i'm not exactly active. telling you what I eat isn't going to help YOU. as the other two here have already said; go and do some research of your own. post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are."When you have to kill a man it costs nothing to be polite."
Vito Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 allright buddy, heres the thing- we are not qualified to help someone in your extreme condition. first of all, we dont know you personally, in real life. second, we dont have MD's. i know for a fact that you havent gone to see any professionals about this problem, because if you had you wouldnt be posting what you just did. no joking or exagerating- GO SEE A PROFESSIONAL. we cannot solve this problem for you. understand? Beiner Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Mat you don't seem to understand that your eating habits may not be the only thing contributing to your obesity problem. Obesity has a high hertibality faction, how often you work out, where you live ( Ie; heat makes you sweat mroe) People here are not trying to put you down, but rather help you get the help you need. we see you want to lose weight, and a proper diet is the first step, bur none of us have the qualifications to make one for you, or even really help. Healthy foods are obvious, just follow the food guide for your diet. But for * sake see a nutritionalist and they can find all the factors that are contributing to your obesity, and cator a diet menu to your individual needs.
