The best martial art to learn? No such thing, it all comes down to how much effort you want to put into your training. I'd say any is a good start...see what's in your area and price range, and go with what interests you.

To condemn the art of another is to condemn your own as well. We all have the same origin.

i am soon going to highschool :) but i want to now should i bother learning karate :-?whta is the best martial art to learn :dodgy:

Question is ...what do you want to learn?.....if you have no idea, start somewhere with something then try to figure out what it is your looking for. But before you start any form of martial arts, remember one thing, it's about hard work, desire, and dedication. None of this quick need for self gratification.

best martial art to learn....

i do not think there is one. pentaxphoto just go to a local school and take a look. if you like it then do it. it really doesn't matter imo what style you train as long as you are training and bettering yourself and the people around you. good luck and let us know what you do.

pain is weakness leaving the body.

There are many threads like this. Unfortunatelly we can't decide for yourself. The best MA style is as easy to decide as the best music. We are not talking here mathematics and we can't quantify it like we would like. It would be great to do so and it would save us the effort of chosing and thinking. The best MA is different for me and you. I love Shotokan. Maybe if I found another dojo and style, the best MA would have be an entire different "name" :) So we can't make choices for you. We can just say what's working for us, without pretending we have the answers, because we don't.

It's OK to start an MA style. You'll have to see what's in the area, see some classes and you'll fall in love with one style and one dojo/dojang. We can help you with some information and opinions, but I'm afraid the hard work is on you :karate:

I agree with all previous post about which is the best strategy to choose a martial art, just go to the various schools watch, try and decide.

If your question is: is still wothwhile studing karate my answer is yes; because is a great art and is a lot of fun with a lot of traditional, competition and self-defence aspects; maybe is not the best in any of this aspects but it has all of them. :karate:
