Hi all,

 

I have a possible groin injury (sharp pain on right inner thigh when I try to do the splits and also when I try to kick at an angle) Any advice? I think it's a groing strain, I don't know. Anyone else ever get this? I've been doing TKD for 12 years, this is very frustrating ... :-?

how long has it been around? it could just be a possible strain on a muscle,but it could also be a serious problem and you may have injured something.

If it hurts don't do it and consult your doctor.

Train like your life depends on it....Because it does.

Just give it time...I've got the same problem right now, and everytime it starts to feel better, I go out and try and do some strenuous activity and BAM, it goes right back to square one...they're a real pain in the *.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, it is a pain. It's a bit better now and I keep stretching so hopefully it'll go away soon ... I only realized from surfing the net a few days ago that's it's a groin strain. Funny thing is, when one doesn't stretch at all, these things don't seem to get better!

It sure sounds like a groin pull to me.I had the same thing A few times.By the way how come your still a white belt after doing TKD for 12 years?

Hiya. I've been having real trouble with my lower back, spreading round deep into my thigh. Strangely enough it no longer hurts when I do the splits (for the first time ever I got down into full splits last night!!) but it does hurt when I kick high or just when I am walking sometimes. Unfortunately I don't (won't!) take enough time off to let it fully heal so I guess I am aggravating an injury and therefore can't really complain. Last week I stopped training on Tuesday and didn't go back until Sunday which is a long time for me.

 

Occasionally the pain in my back/groin really twinges and then my leg will often release, so I am also wondering whether there is some nerve problem there! :roll:. Sigh... if I ignore the problem hopefully it will go away! :lol:
