Rick Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 Heh, well, i'm not exactly a champion - but i think my breakfast usually gets me thru the day pretty well... I'm a bit of a freak for protein because i i'm trying to build more muscle mass (i'm already a big boy at 113kg or roughly 248lb) so i'm usually getting up and cooking myself 4 pieces of toast with around 5 or 6 eggs, which i then usually cover in tomato sauce or ketchup. I find it's the best for filling me in the morning and it keeps me going thru morning workouts with the weights. I usually either have milk or water with it. Not a HUUUGE fan of juice, but it's okay i guess... So what do u guys have for breakfast? Do u think mine is detrimental to my health in any way? (oh yeah, and i usually have a cigarette after breakfast, and i know that's not good for me) Rick RJT: 2nd Degree Black Belt Freestyle Kickboxer - 3rd Gup HapKiDoist - 6th Kyu Zen Go Shu KarateKaJust Kick Them, They'll Understand...-TBK
Sandhoppa Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 All that good breakfast gets negated with that cigarette. Just so you know. No matter how hard you are training and how healthy your diet is, you keep on smoking those things and its pretty much clearing all that stuff out, especially in the long run. Rick Posted September 16, 2004 Author Posted September 16, 2004 Heh, yeah, but i don't think it's REALLY impeding my ability to build muscle mass and burn calories... 47MartialMan Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 You want a highly protein, highly vitamin, highly mineral, food that contains most of these than any other?
aefibird Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 My breakfast = some sort of cereal (Shredded Wheat or cornflakes or similar) with skimmed milk. Occasionally I have a couple of slices of dry toast too (yes, I'm a freak, I prefer toast with nothing on it...). If I'm on holiday (vacation) I might occasionally have the lardy option of a full-English. Bacon, sausuages, fried eggs, fried bread, toast, baked beans, tomatoes, mushrooms and black pudding... Yum! GhostlySykanRyu Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 I usually try to down a half quart of skilm milk, 6 eggs, a slice or two of whole wheat toast /w/ peanut butter, and a piece of fruit. Gets me through. If not, a simple Met-RX meal replacement will do (very filling, and with the milk it's over 60g of protein...the taste must be acquired however!). 47MartialMan Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 In college COLD pizza and HOT beer.......ha, just kiddin, I didnt stay in a frat house. I stayed with my parents then.
Shorin Ryuu Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 Hmmm...you can still eat a lot of protein if your body actually needs it, but instead of eating eggs, use tofu...a little bit of turmeric gives it a little color and add other things to make it taste better. Soy protein is so much healthier than animal protein, and contains everything you need for building muscles. Martial Arts Blog:http://bujutsublogger.blogspot.com/
47MartialMan Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 The problem is having one change their "eating habits"
angelica d Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 I know I'm boring, but I eat exactly the same cereal every day for my breakfast, and have done this for years and years! It still tastes awesome! And I always have some fresh orange juice and maybe a vitamin supplement if I'm not feeling on top form.
