Rick Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 I try to work out every second day, and sometimes every day if the mood takes me... I usually do some weights and then some shadow boxing while playing metallica mp3's on my computer.... i hit the bag a fair bit too. Usually i just do pushups, curls, rows, military presses and some dips for my triceps for my weights routine. And mainly handwork when shadow boxing and hitting the bag. Nothing spectacular but it keeps me in shape. Rick RJT: 2nd Degree Black Belt Freestyle Kickboxer - 3rd Gup HapKiDoist - 6th Kyu Zen Go Shu KarateKaJust Kick Them, They'll Understand...-TBK

GhostlySykanRyu Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 I train every day, regardless of what is done. I do weight training every other day, and try to get in a MA training workout at least 4 days a week. Most of my weight training workouts can be found in Muscle and Fitness magazine, I try to keep things well rounded. To condemn the art of another is to condemn your own as well. We all have the same origin.
Rick Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 Definately, keeping things well rounded is the key to keeping motivated... If u do the same thing over and over again, IMO, you become stagnant and you get bored of what u are doing... Lack of interest equals lack of motivation and lack of motivation just messes everything up for u... bassplayer Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 Also keep in mind that your workouts cant stay the same forever. When you stick with a set schedule for too long, you'll find that you plateau pretty badly and that's when a lot of people's motivation goes through the floor. Keep the intensity progressive, otherwise your body will become too efficient at the same old thing. Change things up often enough so that you dont fry on what you're doing, and never give up
Rick Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 Yeah, add that extra weight to the bar, or do that extra 100 crunches or punches or something... Make it harder for urself when u find it easier. There's nothing worse than hitting a plateau.
