Wardie Posted September 11, 2004 Posted September 11, 2004 I'll start of by quoting a post I posted on a much different forum.Well, basically i've been slacking off the gym for abit because college has made me so tired, although I will be starting again come Monday. The thing is, I was wondering if anyone has any advice, since I am not actually looking to become 'big. If anyone has seent the film, Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, where Jason Scott Lee plays Bruce Lee, that is the kind of body posture I am looking for. Muscular and defined, but not too much. Im a amatuer without a doubt, but I am guessing my diet would be a highly important factor is this? Also, my old gym routine was basically as simple as this. Monday - Legwork, long treadmill run (3 times throughout the session), and some leg weight machines. Wednesday - Push. The gym I attend is a fitness gym and is completely machines Friday - Pull I noticed on some of the description on the machines that some of them excercise the same muscles, evne though I am pushing instead of pulling? I was wondering if I should be working in situps and natural excercised into my days? If I did add situps to work on my six-pack (not that I have one), when would be the best time? I know I am a complete newbie when it comes to this. I will not learn anything without asking though. Even a point in the right direction, where I can find the information would be greatly appretiated. Cheers. Basically, i'll be looking into starting martial arts soon so I am not looking to gain too much strength from weight training, and I am actually thinking about stopping it. It would of been useful to me when I was doing Muay Thai perhaps, but I wish to change style when I start again to something like akido, jeet kune do, jujitsu or something similar. So mainly im quite interested in gaining a faster reaction time, and also become more agile and faster. My flexibility may be a problem since I am not very, any advice on how to work with that would be greatly appretiated. I didn't really notice it when doing Muay Thai since with knee attacks and elbows etc, I never really needed flexibility and needed to be fairly solid. Alot of questions and for that I apologise. I would just like to say that I am new here and will be visiting regularly http://www.comingonstrong.co.uk/pics/sig.jpg
