get your neck muscles and core (ab) muscles in as good of shape as possible. the rest is just getting used to it as it happens. be wary- taking all out hits either makes a fighter straighten up and fly right... or quit.

Hmmm, also another thing that a friend of mine, Josh, has tried once, or i think i remember him telling me he did it, was to put on the heaviest gloves he could find and actually tap himself around a bit, and even sometimes slug himself... I guess since he did it in a controlled manner instead of going psycho on himself he was able to judge how much he could put up with... I don't recommend this to everyone though, just for those who really want to toughen themselves up with that little extra oomph...

If youre serious about getting a good neck workout, check out ironmind.com, they have a lot of lesser-seen specialty workout equipment. I bought their 'headstrap fit for hercules' and the thing ROCKS, it has a soft and comfortable, fully adjustable headband that you can load with enough weight to break your neck 50 times over. Funny most of their items they have there just go way beyond any capacity you can even dream of using them in...just remember to start out easy with your neck!!!

Yeah, don't want to bust up too many blood vessels...that takes a while to heal...

To condemn the art of another is to condemn your own as well. We all have the same origin.
