beginner Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Does anyone think the use of speed bags and jumping rope is an effective practice for MA training? Just a thought that occurred to me after I was in Sports Authority the other day Slowly but surely
Croy Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 i've got a speed bag, but never use it, so sorry i can't answer that part, but as far as jumping rope, defenitely use it, excellent for cardio(if you can manage more than 20mins on it), great for rhythm, and you'll notice an improvement on the height of your jumps, therefore making the jump kicks alot easier 1st Dan CTF TaekwondoShodan Tomiki Ryu Aikido
aefibird Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 I'd say that jump ropes and speed balls/bags are a good addition to any martial artists training routine. I use a jump rope 3-4 times a week and we have a speed bag set up at my dojo. "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..."
