XChosen
When I changed my eating habits back in June I started taking vitamins. Something I have never done. Everything has been going really well. I'm down 20 lbs and looking really good. I've been taking centrum multi vitamins. I have one weeks worth in the bottle. Does anyone have any recommendations on vitamins? What is everyone else taking? CloudDragon
Keep up with the multi-vit. I use ginseing for energy (careful though, it can cause caffeine like jitters), and a childrens asprin to reduce risk of stroke and heart attack. I have heard it from enough Dr.'s so I will say it here: TAKE AN ASPIRIN EVERYDAY!!! It is proven to help reduce those risks. All you have to do is get a bottle of 81mg aspirin, it can be childrens or low-dose adult. A Black Belt is just a white belt that don't know when to quit! Fish
But be careful using aspirin if you have stomach problems - it can cause bleeding of the stomach wall and can irritate ulcers and cause indigestion. aefibird
Aspirin can also aggravate asthma and other lung conditions. However, the benefits from taking low-dose aspirin every day are well known and documented. I'd say keep on going with the multi-vits. I take a general multi-vitamin & mineral supplement every day, along with a cod liver oil capsule. "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..." Reklats
I took some GNC brand multivitamins -- mega-man or something -- that made my urine look like a light sabre. I bet just about any vitamin would do. The average American/first world country inhabitant probably doesn't even need a vitamin to compliment their 2000+ calorie a day diet. White Warlock
a little advice: 1. never take vitamins on an empty stomach 2. be sure not to stack vitamins (taking a multi-vitamin, and then adding up on it with a vitamin-complex or vitamin-specific). Why? because you could bring your intake to an overdose level. 3. Always give extra attention to the fat soluble vitamin intake, as you could easily overdose on them. 4. Do research. Find out what you're taking. Don't just 'assume' that the vitamin supplement covers what you need, or that the 'sources' for these vitamins are viable. 5. Drink plenty of water, all day. Always a good thing to do, but especially if you're going to take vitamin supplements. 6. take vitamins in the morning or early in the day. Do not take vitamin supplements at night, as some vitamins may just give you insomnia. Minerals are a different matter. They can be taken pretty much at any time, but zinc, magnesium, and a few others are actually more beneficial to you while you are resting. 7. I'm Batman.
