Rich_2k3
Martial Arts are a western thing. The asians just refined them... like TVs and VCRs. There is nothing asian about martial arts unless you are asian or being trained by an asian. This is a quote from one of the threads in the weapons section, their all talkin about guns and stuff and who's got the biggest, I cant actually believe their even using this site! I didnt want to leave a message on their thread cuz I cant be bothered to argue. Why are some ppl so ignorent and why do they say things like that? SevenStar
depends on the perspective... the greeks, persians, etc. various indo-aryan cultures have records of having MA far before asians. Even before the greeks, there's said to be an egyptian style that was named after one of their gods or something. He definitely made a closed minded, ridiculous sounding statement, but MA actually didn't originate in asia...
Master Jules
True.....the arts didnt originate in China....when Bohdidarma traveled from India to China, he stayed at the Shaolin temple.....Im sure we all know the story.......martial arts technically originated whenever and wherever the very first physical altercation between two human beings occured.....probably eons ago, and probably wherever the earliest remains of man have been found to date......just a thought.. ~Master Jules ~Master Jules......aka "The Sandman""I may be a trained killer......but Im really a nice guy"
aefibird
Well, man has probably been bashing one another over the head with rocks for millennia. I think that fighting is somewhat part of our nature, so wherever MA originated, you can bet it was early on in the development of mankind... "Was it really worth it? Vito
hm, just for the record, yea guns are western. chinese had the powder, but the westerners invented the actual gun. that other quote though, wow, yea... some people are just flamingly stupid. there are so many things wrong with it i cant even pick it apart. hey, give us the link to where you picked that up from so we can all call him an idiot where he posted.
