Tomahawk
I have read quite a few post about different styles of martial arts. Let's face it; some styles are for sport, some are for fitness, some are for discipline and control, some are for self-defense, while some are a combination of two or more of the previously mentioned. In your opinion, what you say some of the best styles are for self defense? Thanks, Tomahawk
Ironberg
Krav Maga enthusiasts, and similar styles, claim their style is geared towards self defense. Rich_2k3
Yes, Krav Maga is excellent for self defence. I would also say some modern forms of karate. For example my style is very "no-nonsense" and focus's heavly on self defence and knife defences. 47MartialMan
"Finger Technique" P.S. How do I get that silly "White Belt" from under my name?
Rotten Head Fok
I like all styles and what ever their purpose if you give enough of yourself they will provide you with something.......and something can help. You must be stable and balanced in your foot work, if you have to use your martial knowledge in combat, your intent should be to win. If you do strike, you must release great power! The martial arts are easy to learn, but difficult to correct.
GrrrArg
47 - the white belt is there to signify your post count, its not a representation of actual grade. If you want to show your actual grade, add it to your profile and or signature. Which ever SD geared MA you currently practice is probably the best for you at this time. Otherwise you wouldn't be doing it

Born and raised in New Orleans....near the worse part of town. Seen and been in many things. And the best defense is either "Not Be There In The First Place", or have a Gun. GrrrArg
Click the "Profile" button on the tan coloured part of the top of the page. It will take you too your profile page, scroll down to the bottom and you will see an Avatar managing section. There are options to link to a picture on the net, or upload one from your computer. There are however size and dimension restrictions on what can be used as an avatar.
