seanwilliam
Hello, my name is Sean. I live in Houston Tx, and work as a computer tech. Also, I am a full time student earning a computer science degree with an emphasis in programming. I have very little MA training, some training as a kid in CHAYON-RYU but nothing else. I have searched with no luck for over a year for a MA school. Hopefully I can find one and begin training. I hope to have fun here, thanks. Rotten Head Fok
Hello Sean, Welcome to Karate Forums! You must be stable and balanced in your foot work, if you have to use your martial knowledge in combat, your intent should be to win. If you do strike, you must release great power! The martial arts are easy to learn, but difficult to correct.

GrrrArg
Welcome There are a few MA schools in Houston. My club just opened a hombu there I believe. But there are a bunch of other good clubs there that are all worth a look.
Shorinryu Sensei
Hi Sean, welcome to the forum! I lived in Houston (know where Traders Village is?) for 6 months back in 1999, and in my spare time I visited numerous dojo's around the city. My biggest suggestion is to AVOID any dojo that advertises "Master" or "GrandMaster" so-and-so. I'm not going to name any names, but I went into at least a dozen dojo's around the city that had "Masters" in them, and I wasn't very impressed by them, or their black belt students. They sure wanted me to sign on the dotted line though, especially when they learned I was an experienced instructor of another system and had just moved down there. Just my opinion. My nightly prayer..."Please, just let me win that PowerBall Jackpot just once. I'll prove to you that it won't change me!"
