Vito Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 wow, im with lucky on this one. however, i think that in most cases a video alone is entirely useless. taichi however, is probably an exception to that. "If an injury has to be done to a man it should be so severe that his vengeance need not be feared." -Machiavelli
Rotten Head Fok Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 Vito, Tai Chi Chuan is no exception. (no offence) You must be stable and balanced in your foot work, if you have to use your martial knowledge in combat, your intent should be to win. If you do strike, you must release great power! The martial arts are easy to learn, but difficult to correct.
Chirath Posted November 6, 2004 Posted November 6, 2004 Would it be a good idea to buy an instructional dvd of another style. Im thinking of buying a Kyokushin instructional dvd. Will my experience in another karate style make the dvd useful. Or should I buy a Wado Ryu DVD to supplement my training?
italian_guy Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 Vito, Tai Chi Chuan is no exception. (no offence) Definitly, the form have so many details that if done not correctly may make the entire exercise useless or even harmful. Learning TCC application self-defence application with videos is even worse. Videos in Tai chi are hard to use even as a supplement, while in other martial arts they may be used (as supplements).
