Recently returned, after the passing of Mr.Attebury and am now training under Matt Durney (Cho Dan). at the same Dojang. I returned as a 10th Gup (White Belt) and am now a 7th Gup (Blue Belt). Since I returned on April 5, 2004, I have lost 33.4 pounds and will lose 29.6 more, putting me at 165 pounds. I did powerlifting for several months and I have found the strength gained beneficial. I recently started training in Giron Arnis Escrima under Guro David Hines and am loving it. Other arts I intend to seriously pursue: Kyokushin Karate Muay Thai Boxing Some kind of stand up grappling art Some kind of ground grappling art Yeah, I'm a stand up/striking kind of guy, heh heh. Rotten Head Fok Posted August 14, 2004 Posted August 14, 2004 Hello, Welcome to KF! You must be stable and balanced in your foot work, if you have to use your martial knowledge in combat, your intent should be to win. If you do strike, you must release great power! The martial arts are easy to learn, but difficult to correct.
