Chirath Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 I've druck 2 cups of milk everyday for nearly 2 years and Im wondering if it good. Yes I know the calcium helps your bones and so forth. But looking at the fat content it seems very fat. Anyone else drink alot of milk or try to avoid it?
Rich_2k3 Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 Milk is an excellant source of calcium, and best drank with cerial. Its a positive as long as u dont drink it to excess (as with alot of things), 2 cups a day is absolutley fine, and is a gr8 complement for ur daily diet, remember semi skimmed is best. p.s Fresh orange juice also good, lots of vitimins, drink that daily aswell. XeDa Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 Excellent post Rich_2k3!!! Milk is an awsome way for calcium. Is doesn't taste to bad either. **A LITTLE SCHOOL TIME** Once you turn 21 or around there your bones do not allow any more calcium in them. For girls i Belive it is a little lower. But also eggs help out to!!! *OFF TOPIC** I used to be like 90 lbs... in the 8th grade going into highschool... thats skinny, But still never broken a bone. Then I started eating alot. Including eggs, Every morning. I went to 180 in like 4 weeks. Thats bad. then i joined karate. And i am a at a stedy 150 lbs...
aefibird Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 Milk is good - the health benefits it can give you are excellent. Drink semi-skimmed or skimmed milk if you're worried about the fat content. Some companies in the UK sell fortified milk, which has extra added vitamins and minerals. Women, especially, should make sure that they're getting enough dairy products to help stave off the risk of osteoporosis in later life (which is a horrible thing to have - my mum has it, along with osteoathritis). Hudson Posted August 6, 2004 Posted August 6, 2004 Milk is great for you. Not only does it taste good, but it has a good amount of protein in it and of course the obvious calcium benefits. Like the other posters commented, if you're worried about fat content, switch to 1% or skim-milk. The game of chess is much like a swordfight; you must think before you move.
Vito Posted August 6, 2004 Posted August 6, 2004 the 1 and 2% milk, skim and all that stuff has little fat. even whole milk, though, is great for oyu. i have a loooot more than 2 cups a day, and you should too! and you, and you, and you.... CanuckMA Posted August 6, 2004 Posted August 6, 2004 Milk also has a tendency to upset your digestive system, and create a large amount of mucus.
ramymensa Posted August 6, 2004 Posted August 6, 2004 I've been drinking milk for all my life. I'm addicted to it I drink half a litre and even a litre daily and I've never had anything broken although I had 2 accidents and very big concussions. I drink the milk from a friend of ours who's got cows and it's all natural and fatty. I've never had problems with digesting it and if so I'd go for the one who has less fat. I'd recomend dairy products too, of course if they don't give digestive problems. World Shotokan Karate
markusan Posted August 6, 2004 Posted August 6, 2004 I've heard milk can make you accident prone and give you concussion.
ninjanurse Posted August 7, 2004 Posted August 7, 2004 MILK IS EVIL!!!!!!!!! Meant for baby cows, not people-designed to grow a humungous cow due its fat, etc.; Full of stuff you can't see without a microscope; Can actually cause anemia in children; need I say more?
