Brandon Fisher Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 I personally don't always really very rare. My vision is rescrited enough without it let alone with it. Brandon FisherSeijitsu Shin Do
jaymac Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 I like head gear mostly for take downs during sparring. Concussions are usually received when someone bounces their head off of the floor. Head gear has adequate padding that may prevent serious injury. A great martial artist is one who is humble and respectful of others.

Shotokan-kez Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Hi Matt.We very rarely wear headgear. Mitts and mouth guards yes. But in our club it's very rare anyone gets hurt, very light sparring with lots of control. Walk away and your always a winner. https://www.shikata-shotokan.co.uk
bushido_man96 Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 We always wear head gear. Head kicks are very frequent, and in tournaments, you require body displacement to score a point. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
DeeBoy Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 if you feel you need it as the control of your sparring partner requires you to wear it for your safety, then yes wear it. however, i find that when ever i wore headgear it made my head more of a target. for some reason people seem to think they can hit you harder with headgear on. remember, headgear wont stop you from being knocked out, it will help but isnt 100% protection.
