Kamiya Posted July 29, 2004 Posted July 29, 2004 Boy oh boy, am I learning the importance of drinking enough water throughout the day. Last night during karate we were doing some kicking drills, and then I felt sick. I had to ask to get a drink of water. That's the second time that's happened. If I don't aim for the recommended 64 ounces a day, I'm really hurting during class. Doesn't help that the dojo can get kinda hot. So yeah, moral of the story, drink your water, people. ~Erin9th Kyu"Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft."~ Theodore Roosevelt
aefibird Posted July 30, 2004 Posted July 30, 2004 Yes, it is very important to keep drinking plenty of water, especially during the summer when a person can become dehydrated very quickly. June1 Posted December 4, 2004 Posted December 4, 2004 I just cannot function without water. I have to bring a bottle every class. I tend to tire easily and if we're doing many drills, I constantly have to run to the bottle to get a sip, then run back to rejoin the class. It's kind of annoying, but hey, I don't want my throat to dry and for me to gag (which happened once). Kool Kiais: ICE! DIE! KITES! DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHHH! HumanTyphoon Posted December 4, 2004 Posted December 4, 2004 Whoa...this thread is old....but yes water is important. I tried going on a day drinking soda and then exercising but I was never as energized as when drinking water. If you take a crooked path and have to go through a cliff. Sinar89 Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 does water also help you loose weight somehow?
steveb Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 Sure. It can make you feel fuller so that you don't eat as much. Also, if you replace things like soda with water and/or juice then you are getting less calories and sugar which is much healthier. Res firma, mitescere nescit
