TangSooGuy Posted June 14, 2004 Posted June 14, 2004 Tang Soo Guy, I never said it was better or right. I was merely pointing out that people were talking in their posts like the story took place in America. Nothing more. Get a grip on your convictions man. I personally think it is a bad thing for government to take weapons rights away from the people. I believe in the 2nd Amendment. It is the only way the people can keep the government from getting completely out of hand. The states with conceal and carry laws on the books have less crime. It is fact. I simply thought it was an interesting story, and thought I would post the link. Sorry, I guess I misinterpreted your meaning. Sounds to me like we actually agree with one another. It IS most definitely an interesting story, one I've shared with a lot of people. The problem is that this kind of thinking is rampant right here in the US right now, and people seem to think that taking the wepaons away is a good idea, when history has consistently shown the opposite to be true.

You are correct sir. Taking our right to defend ourselves from thugs and government is a very socialist and WRONG thing to do. Ken ChenaultTFT - It does a body good!
Vito Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 I think the idea that we're all dancing around here is that liberals pretty much suck, at least when it comes to this kind of stuff. "If an injury has to be done to a man it should be so severe that his vengeance need not be feared." -Machiavelli
White Warlock Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 Oh please, politically motivated stereotyping is so cliche'. "When you are able to take the keys from my hand, you will be ready to drive." - Shaolin DMV TestIntro
Vito Posted July 10, 2004 Posted July 10, 2004 yea yea... they still wanna take away our guns. "If an injury has to be done to a man it should be so severe that his vengeance need not be feared." -Machiavelli
Batman Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 think of it like this: when weapons are banned who's gonna turn in their weapons? the bad guys? NO!!! the bad guys are gonna keep their weapons and the good guys will wanna be good and follow the law and turn in their weapons. After this is all over, the good guys will not have anything to defend themselves with and the bad guys can go around free to do bad stuff. look at texas for example. everyone gets to carry a gun, but the crime there is pretty low. why you may ask? well the reason being is because a bank robber knows that if he tries to rob a bank in texas, everyone will pop a bullet in his *.
Beka Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 Taking our right to defend ourselves from thugs and government is a very socialist and WRONG thing to do. Oh NO!! Not SOCIALISM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's to hell in a handbasket if those derned SOCIALISTS take over!!!!! It all starts with those liberals. They're gonna take away all of our freedoms until one day OH NO! they finally reveal their little red hats and *Gasp* COMMUNISM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sorry for that, I swear, I'll never do it again. :pony:
kchenault Posted July 12, 2004 Author Posted July 12, 2004 You talkin' ta me? YOU TALKIN' TA ME? I thought you was talkin' ta me. Sloppy DeNiro, I know. I personally view socialism as communism lite. I am a Constitution believing, right wing, conservative. I don't believe the Constituion is a living document, I believe they said what they meant. It was not meant to change but to be amended. But that is another can of worms. I will hold you to your word Beka. Ken ChenaultTFT - It does a body good!
Lupin3 Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 What was Orwell's line? Something about that which is not specifically allowed is strictly prohibited by a (totalitarian) government?
kchenault Posted July 12, 2004 Author Posted July 12, 2004 That would not apply to America. Things that are not specifically allowed are actually pushed on most folks in this country and things that are allowed, are trying to be taken away. Just ask the ACLU. Ken ChenaultTFT - It does a body good!
