TheDevilAside Posted June 1, 2004 Posted June 1, 2004 It's not a matter of toughening them up, you just need to get used to it. "If you're going through hell, keep going." - Sir Winston Churchill
cross Posted June 1, 2004 Posted June 1, 2004 Basically your arms will become conditioned to taking hits over time and to easy the bruises until that time you should try Arnica or another bruise repairing lotion.
tufrthanu Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 I have heard Dit Da Jow works well on injuries. Long Live the Fighters!
Ant Posted June 3, 2004 Author Posted June 3, 2004 Thanks for the reply's I will ask my Sempai tonight about it but I'm pretty sure his answer will be you'll get used to it. There is no visible bruising (maybe a little yellow) onmy right forearm but I really don't want to block anything with it tonight Orpington Shotokan Karate Club
Mart Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 Get a stick about 14 inches long, Drill a hole in it. Put a long peice of thin rope through it and tie some weight to the end. role it up and down using your hands with your arms out straith. This makes yuor forearms strong and helps them withstand blows. Its not just a case of getting used to it. Seize the day!
TheDevilAside Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 You could also beat yourself bloody with a large stick every evening (or if you have a pretty sick friend..), that would condition you to take a block with just about every body part imaginable. TheDevilAside Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 That area already takes enough abuse as it is. "If you're going through hell, keep going." - Sir Winston Churchill
