The perfect body!!! Is that too much to ask?!?

As for what to eat...lots of protein. No fried foods. Try to cut out as much white bread as possible (keep the simple carbs low).

Baked Potatos

Fast food options: Any grilled chicken sandwich, no mayo. Kill the fries. Subway rules the school as far as # of healthy options compared to other fast food places. Hope that helps.

I agree with most of what you said, except that Baked Potatoes contain rapidly absorbed starch so are just as bad as white bread. Substitute new potatoes or more veg.

Currently: Kickboxing and variants.

Previously: Karate (Seido, Shotokan, Seidokan), Ju Jitsu, Judo, Aikido, Fencing.

If you can't do push-ups at all, there are two options.

1) Use a bench press weight machine. That allows you to do the same motion with less than your body weight. Or

2) Try starting with just the negatives. What I mean by that is to get yourself into a fully arm extended push-up position however you have to and slowly lower your body to the ground. Then get yourself back to a fully arm extended position however you have to, and again slowly lower yourself to the ground. In time you'll be able to push yourself back up also.

There's a pretty good website that helps you keep track of your diet and exercise. It's not 100% accurate, but it's fairly close. And it's free, just create an account and log on.

That's a great site. but are u sure it's free, or is it just free for a certain amount of time b4 they charge you?

You can always do what i do, stop taking a meal.

Sometimes when go up a few Kg i skip lunch and just eat fruit and bread adn yougurt. If you are that overweights its because you eat already to mutch during the day, so one meal of of 3 will not hurt your development and you will stop getting fat.

Of corse do not always skip lunch, just do it like 3 times a week.

Add 3 hours of weekly execise, and lots of walking around and you will see that weight will start droping.

Also maintaining a decent diet helps a lot, that is do not eat Burgers and fries as a meal, or other heavy meat dishes but go for boiled fish, rice , boiled potatos, bread, fiber at breakfast and drink water not sodas or beer.

If this still does not work start eating only half the plate at meals, because you are still eating to mutch.

And those snacks you normaly eat when you are bored, get a hobby or a gameboy to play insted of eating out of boredom (the main reason why i normaly gain weight).

Mya, as a recovered anorexic I can safely say that its a REALLY bad idea to skip meals if you want to lose weight and be healthy. It can lead to two scenarios>

1/ You get so hungry that you find yourself eating loads of unhealthy snacks throughout the afternoon, so it totally defeats the point.

2/ You find skipping meals easy so you decide to skip more and more, because believe me starving yourself does become an addiction. You start to feel good if you miss a meal, and eventually you end up eating practically nothing which has all kinds of horrible consequences that I won't go into here. So DON'T DO IT! :kaioken:

If you want to lose weight and not become one of the two examples above, the only way to do it is to be sensible. That means three reasonable meals per day, and more exercise. It might take longer than simply missing meals, but your metabolism will increase (as opposed to decreasing when your body goes into starvation mode) and the weight will stay off.

Sorry if I sound angry, its just an issue that I feel very strongly about and I wouldn't want anybody to go through the hell that I went through three - five years ago.

Skipping meals doesn't really work because a person will tend to eat more before or after the meal that was skipped.

Eat 5 smaller meals a day. The body will metabolize the food faster. For snacks try eating some fruit rather than potatoe chips or a candy bar.

The way to loose weight is by watching how many calories and fat gram intake during the course of a day.

Sugar will turn to fat if it's not burned immediately so stay away from the sugars (regular pop, candy, etc...)

Then incorporate some aerobic activity. With a min. of 20 minutes but preferably 40 min. This will burn your calories that you have taken in. Key is to burn more than you intake.

For best result don't eat for 3 hrs before going to bed. Get up in the morning grab a BIG glass of water and a towel and start your aerobic workout. This way you are burning fat because your stomach is empty while you workout.

Recap: Eat healthy food, stay away from fatty foods, and do some aerobic workout.

  • 2 weeks later...

Sky, I can very easily relate to what your going through. As a child I decided it was more fun to play Nintendo than baseball, so I quit physical activity all together, and I bloated up as a result. I had no strength or stamina. I couldn't do pushups, either. I also suffered with esteem issues. Being the pariah of my class didn't help much. Basically, when I hit rock bottom and couldn't even stand to look at myself in the mirror, I finally realized that I had to make that change for myself.

I started of doing situps, as best as I could, every other day. I started doing 20, moved up to 30, then 40, and on to 50, 60, 70, and so on until I reached 300. Now, when I do situps, I get bored before I get tired. As for pushups, I had already lost a lot of my gut by doing situps, but I then realized how weak my arms were. One day I assumed the standard pushup position, and I made up my mind that once I lowered myself I was not going to quit pushing until I was back in the starting position. Low and behold, it was a teeth gritting several seconds, but I actually did it. As pathetic as it sounds to many people, I started off doing one push up. The next day, I improved my record by 100% (yeah, I did 2). I moved up to 5, then 10, and I was cracking off 20 by the end of the week. I kept pushing myself on into 30, 40, and 50+ at a time. I lost the weight, built my muscles, and greatly improved my fitness.

You could very easily surpass that goal of losing 30lbs in 3 months. The worse shape you are in, the greater marginal gains you'll see as you begin your excercise program. Early on, once you hit 10 pushups, you could very well double your record to 20 the next time you work out. After that, you might only improve by 50% (moving from 20 pushups to 30 pushups) for your next few work outs, and your gains will start getting smaller as you get in better and better shape.

I think calisthenics would be the best way for you to begin. They did miracles for me. I know you said you can't do sit ups or pushups, but you'll change that fact by trying to do them. Make up your mind that you won't quit until you've at least done 1 proper sit up today. Do the same for pushups. I realize 1 sounds like a pretty low goal, but that number will rapidly increase so long as you make the committment to perform your exercise regimen daily (or at least every other day). In the end, the key to getting in shape is focus and committment. Remember, Rome can't be built in a day, but it can be built.
