Gus
Hi all, Recently, I've tried out Hindu squats, Hindu pushups and other bodyweight exercises. I've also read that these are better than using weights for developing strength and endurance, but what i don't know is if they should be done everyday or every second day (like bodybuilding) . Thanks in advance for any replies, Gus

WolverineGuy
Just like any muscle building exercise, the harder you go, the more time your muscles need to rest. Muscles don't grow when you work out, they grow when you rest...and with as much resting as I do, I should be Mr. Olympia. Seriously, Hindu squats and pushups are fine, although they put some unneeded stress on some of your joints. I prefer just weights, although you can run into the same problem there. Eh, nothing is perfect. Back on track. Rest. Rest is good. There, I've said it. Wolverine1st Dan - Kalkinodo"Shut up brain, or I'll stab you with a q-tip""There is no spoon." TheDevilAside
^What Wolverine said.. Also, Hindu Squats and push ups aren't better for developing strength, weights dominate that aspect. Foor endurance, however, asthetic exercises are better. For instance, a weight lifter might be able to bench 300 lbs, but he can't do over 40 push ups, and vice versa. Of course, you can train to be able to do both "If you're going through hell, keep going." - Sir Winston Churchill
Thuggish
devilwhatever is right- for strength you need weights, if you want endurance you can train with weights as well, just do it differently. personally, i use weights for strength and my training for endurance, i.e. bagwork for half an hour or something. a broken arm throws no punches
