Well, the snippity bit came from this, "If it were that hard on your discs, there would be no fat man on earth with painless backs," but no biggie. The know-it-all was in reference to me and how you may have viewed my input as someone who was trying to act like he knows it all. I was clarifying that i wouldn't have responded if i didn't feel relatively confident in the information i was providing...

Anyway, dismiss it. I posted the above when i was utterly exhausted, so obviously i was just a tad too sensitive at the time to be visiting discussion forums.

Sorry about that, I didn't mean it that way. You can't hear people's tone over the net, so misunderstandings come up. Anyway, what I was saying was there are fat people who carry around that much weight 24/7 that don't have problems, and I am only going to carry it some of the time, so I am not too worried.

If you can't laugh at yourself, there's no point. No point in what, you might ask? there's just no point.

Many people seem to take Karate to get a Black Belt, rather than getting a Black Belt to learn Karate.

As was mentioned, fat people work to the weight increase slowly. It is also distributed all over the body. The vest will have shouldrs, and if really well built, some of the hips carry the weight. Very hard on the lower (L4 to S1) vertabrae.

If fat guys ain't feeling it in their back, they probably will one day. If not there, it's in the knees.

I work with orthropedists all day. I see who needs fusions and discectomies, and I see who needs knee replacements.

And I'll be darned if 99.9 percent of these people aren't either:

a)Overweight

b)Lifting too much

c)a combination of both

discectomies

ooo... new word. What's it mean?

Back operation to remove the herniated portion of a disc. Not as radical as fusion, but still a pain.
