mrphoenix Posted April 21, 2004 Author Posted April 21, 2004 I am 32 years old. Which probably adds to my aches and pains. But after 4 or 5 classes I am feeling a little less pain. Now it is just a matter of working on my coordination and balance.
embm Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 Welcome! As an older practitioner (40), I would ask if you are warming up properly before you begin your class? If you don't have a formal warm up prior to the start of class, you may want to arrive a little early and work on warming up with some joint rotations, jogging in place 5 to 10 minutes, then stretching prior to the start of class. I beleive most injuries/soreness occurs from not properly warming up. Team RespectI may have taught you everything you know, but I haven't taught you everything I know. Age and treachery can beat youth and speed any day.
mrphoenix Posted April 21, 2004 Author Posted April 21, 2004 I have started warming up for about 5 to 10 minutes before each class. I mostly do some streching and practice my stances. This seems to help a lot.
