g
i started rugby(football with no pads im from ireland) last night and when i got home i realised that my shins where cut and brused from the studs in the boots so my question why all this conditioning because adrenalin seems to take care of the pain. thaiboxerken
Exactly, G. Shin conditioning is a myth perpetuated by movies and "macho" guys that want to think they are tough. Joecooke007
Yes adrenaline will take care of pain but only momentarily. If you had a knife wound to the shin adrenaline would not ease the pain for long. Boards don't hit back. -Bruce Lee

thaiboxerken
"Yes adrenaline will take care of pain but only momentarily. If you had a knife wound to the shin adrenaline would not ease the pain for long. " My current instructor told me about the time he tackled and disarmed a guy with a gun. It wasn't until after he put the guy down that he realized he was shot. Shin conditioning is best left to the "macho" guys that watch too much TV. Angus
Yeah it's a load of BS... I train easier these days and use shin pads when sparring cos i don't want to have bruises all over my shins and be too sore to block if i get into a fight the next day. I must admit that sparring is a lot more fun when u have just a couple of protective things on. U can go at it hard and not risk loosing teeth and stuff...
