Budderfly Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 Our dojang has a huge sense of family. We are all close, we have fun and we motivate each other. We train hard and push ourselves and are there to support each other. Not just in the dojang but outside as well. We still follow the traditional rules in our dojang and our Instructor wants to see us smiling, sweating and learning each class.
Ironberg Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 Our dojang has the same kind of feeling. Except that it can get rather serious during class. Some times my instructor gives up on the "low contact" rule in sparring when I'm facing an equal peer [ "ooF" "You okay?" "yeah" . Instructor wanders somewhere to help someone with their kata]. "An enlightened man would offer a weary traveler a bed for the night, and invite him to share a civilized conversation over a bowl of... Cocoa Puffs."
italian_guy Posted April 14, 2004 Posted April 14, 2004 In my Tai chi chuan school the atmosphere is quite relaxed the main instructor sometimes jokes also with us even if we work quite hard. In the kickboxing class the atmosphere is less relaxed and jokes are not allowed during regular class even if before and after the practice we talk and joke with each other.
