Steerpike
Hello all. There's a sword available at several websites that looks a lot like this. I've been looking to get one. I see some cheaper versions for sale on ebay, but I have a feeling they would be lower quality. Is this worth the $80, or should I just forget about it? I'm not looking to actually use it very much, maybe sometimes fool around with it in the back yard. But mostly it would just be a "cool thing to own". What do you guys think? WomanInBlack
I think you should learn to use it. These types of swords are not toys and it would be a waste of money unless you decide to purchase decorative swords in which you set out and display. Then again, she's a responsible person... I'm not, I'm irresponsible and wreckless, I'd buy it :/ "If you're going through hell, keep going." - Sir Winston Churchill
TheDevilAside
Scabbard can be used as a snorkellol, that's awesome. Scabbard houses a battle tool and two 8 1/2" mini tantos (Kodzuka) and a throwing knife that can be attached to the scabbard tip, allowing it to be used as a spearcool! Sig
These are what is called a wall hanger, it looks pretty but is not ment to be used. Under actual combat stress it would probably shatter. If you want something that looks pretty on your wall I say go for it. If you want the real deal try swordstore.com. They are expensive but well worth it in quality. Better have it and not need it than to need it and not have it
Ktonix
^^^ exactly You buy those for your wall , If your ever to use it in any cutting exercises just watch the 99$ sword break , chip or bend. General rule , If the temper line is etched, it belongs on the wall
tommarker
I don't think they get much "cheaper" than this one. The Ebay stuff is probably the same thing at wholesale price. I would be seriously concerned with it falling apart, even just casually playing with it... Striking anything is probably a bad idea, too For me, a "cool thing to own" would either be a lot more utilitarian, or at least a little more authentic looking I'm no longer posting here. Adios. Treebranch
I wouldn't even try cutting with that sword. It's a display sword. The shuriken and knives might be fun to practice with. I would recommend that you study how to use this stuff first. You can hurt yourself as well as others. TheDevilAside
Dude, the scabbard can be used as a snorkel.. how can it not be 100% Ninja authentic? Heh, no, they're right. It's a display sword.
