sansoouser
What do you think is the best exercise you could do if you could only do one. There was an old strongman who believed the best exercise was the squat, and he could do around 1,200 pounds on it. My opinion on this is the pull up, they have so many variats you can work almost every part of your body. You can lift your knees up and turn so it works your ab and it's a killer for your arms. After all how many apes do you see lifting weights? Even though a 120 chimp can pull 1,200 pounds with one arm! Next, what do you think was the worst exercise or piece of equipment for exercising is. I think it's the lat pull down. Just because it's to easy to cheat yourself on it. Also do you like body weight exercises or weight training better? The amateur shoots his hands out ferociously, but lacks any true power. A master is not so flamboyant, but his touch is as heavy as a mountain. Dijita
The best exorcise in my opinion is either cycling or running. I think it's more important to develop the cardiovascular system than to build up muscle. However with cycling and running you would be building muscle, as well as toning down, as well as increasing your endurance, and stamina.

WolverineGuy
Squat, without a doubt. Without varying it, you hit SEVERAL muscle groups all at once. Best: carying around a duffle filled with semi-rigid heavy stuff. You can run, walk, climb, whatever, while throwing it around for a dynamic workout or just carrying it to isolate muscle groups. Worst: toss up between the couch and the remote. Also: body weight, though as my waist grows I'm thinking a nice light barbell sounds ok. Freedom isn't free! Reklats
I'm trying to do more finger tip pushups, and more rope skipping. The finger tip pushups work your chest and your grip (although I cant do a lot on my finger tips right now) and skipping is GREAT cardio. Squats are great, but if I could only do one exercise it would be clean and jerk.
TheDevilAside
Best: Hands down, swimming. Worst: "Hand-stand push ups" ..one of the assistant instructors, who's in his twenties, was doing these "hand stand push ups" after class was over, it's pretty self explanatory, you do a handstand, then bend at the elbows and go back up.. just like doing push ups, just you have to your feet in the air. I was stupid enough to try this at home, and I almost broke my neck, and fell sidewards against the edge of my desk. It looked a lot easier when he did it :/ Now I understand the "never try this at home" warnings. blitzcraig
Jumping rope is good...but damaging to the knees and ankles in the long run....cycling is good #1"The road to tae kwan leep is an endless road leading into the herizon, you must fully understand its ways". #2"but i wanna wax the walls with people now" #1"come ed gruberman, your first lesson is here.....boot to the head" #2"ouch, you kicked me in the head", #1"you learn quickly ed gruberman"
