G95champ
I never stopped training. This is my 11th year in Shotokan karate but my teacher moved several years ago and I have been teaching. Prob. before I should have. I was a young black belt and though I knew it all or had a solid answer anyhow. Well a few weeks ago I came across my teachers, teacher and started training under him. Mad did I have some bad habbits. Things I knew and had pointed out to others but had not caught myself. Ive trained hard for about a month now and man I feel like I have gotten so much better in that period of time than I had in the last several years. Just wanted to share that with you guys and remind you to have someone check in on you from time to time because we do develope bad habbits. (General George S. Jerry
Wazup G! It's great to see that you have managed to keep going for so many years. I must say that you are a great person for admitting that you now realise that you had some flaws from which you have learnt. That is what the Arts is all about, growth. Keep it up and never keep anything from your students, they are your image. Cheerz! Have fun.
Natural
You've earned your black belt and are still in martial arts for so long, it prove that you are capable of pushing yourself, keep fit, keep trainning and who knows you might become tommorrws champion!!! Bye . A karate punch it is like a dasvasted stick blow. Instead, a blow of Kung Was is comparable to a lash with a chain that has attacked, allaltra extremity one ball of ferro
G95champ
Its not about the championships. I don't take part in any contests. I train for the love of the art. These past few weeks have been a great time in my training. Just minor things like I was dropping my elbow, or a move in a kata, or giving away a techinque in sparring. My teacher's teacher told me Ive helped him as well because he usually just gets young students and he was happy to work with someone who was the same but differant. We are going to start up some classes together soon. Again I stress never think you know it all. I have always said I have forgotten more than I know but it has been proven to me this week. Advice for you new blackbelts. Dont rush to teach get your stuff down. When you make Dan you feel like you own the world but one day you will realize there is a lot out there for you yet to learn and clean up. Keep training. (General George S. Red J
Good advice...I had heard once that humility is always remaining teachable. I had to lose my mind to come to my senses.
