BruceLee Posted January 28, 2004 Posted January 28, 2004 Isometric exercises... my friend showed me this one today in class, and it seemed really easy and I could feel it when I pushed hard enough. Does anyone like using these exercises when they don't have access to any sort of exercise machines? The meaning of life... is to live.
Bretty101 Posted January 28, 2004 Posted January 28, 2004 Do you mean to increase flexibility? They are a great way to increase flexibility but tend to put a lot of pressure on your joints? Or do you mean Isometric exercises where you push againt something that doesn't move? Bretty
Jazzstorm Posted January 28, 2004 Posted January 28, 2004 I have done isometric excercises for years now. They are a great way to strengthen your muscles and are very easy on the joints. After many years of weightlifting,I found that isometrics gave me "cuts" that lifting didn't. I do believe though, that if you are looking to "bulk up" Isometrics won't really help you do that. They more or less help you build long lean muscles. The type I do,work the muscles insertions, instead of just the muscle"belly" Kyo Sa Nim in KSWCertified Personal TrainerHealth and Business Consultant
BruceLee Posted February 5, 2004 Author Posted February 5, 2004 Yeah, I've read isometric exercises give u more definition in ur muscles and give u a more cut look. The meaning of life... is to live.
Rich_2k3 Posted February 5, 2004 Posted February 5, 2004 Isometrics are good, dynamic strength is phenominal, and its very similar to isometrics. Try this book, its really cheap and is brilliant at toning and building muscle mass. I'm not kidding this book is amazing, and the exercises are so easy. Its got over 30 in it, with pictures, and lists exactly what muscle groups u work on. The warm ups are great too. Seriously man, i've got so much more strength in my muscles cuz I can do these anywhere at any time, and I actually quite enjoy them, i'm doing "fist salutation" right now, and I can feel the tension in my muscles. Give it a try. Its called "Dynamic Strength" by "Harry Wong". U can get it from lots of places, I suggest https://www.Amazon.com or https://www.Amazon.co.uk depending where ur from, read the reviews they give it.
