aefibird Posted January 31, 2004 Posted January 31, 2004 Natural, I'd get yourself to the doctors ASAP. It sounds like you might have broken your finger. If you don't want to go to your GP, then at least go see a pharmacist. They're qualified to give you good advice. Hey, the NHS is free in this country!! Take advantage of it! I pay my taxes so that people can use it... LOL Try strapping your hurt finger to the next finger. The good finger will give some support to the injured one. Put some thin padding (lint pad, cotton wool etc) between the two fingers and then gently bind them with micropore tape. DON'T do what a drummer friend of mine did and tape your fingers together with sellotape... In the UK, Boots sell their own brand padded strapping tape. I'd really recommend it, I used it when I broke two fingers in a horseriding accident. It's also good for taping your fingers up when sparring or doing bag work!! "Was it really worth it? I'd still suggest that you see a GP or a nurse. Make sure you're not training until your finger is fully healed or you could damage it even more. "Was it really worth it? Drunken Monkey Posted February 7, 2004 Posted February 7, 2004 think about, does it make sense that anyone can walk around with anything broken, like a finger, that has swollen and gone purple without a parent telling them to go see a doctor? and from purple to all ok in a matter of days? make of it what you will. i'm sure you know what i think. post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are."When you have to kill a man it costs nothing to be polite."
Hoju Posted February 8, 2004 Posted February 8, 2004 i'm sure you know what i think. Concur. I would think as soon as it it happened, the sever pain & tears would also clue in an instructor that something was up.

Sasori_Te Posted February 11, 2004 Posted February 11, 2004 * !!! Maybe if it were a mild sprain it would be healed in two weeks. However, swollen and purple doesn't sound minor to me. I don't believe that it could have healed that much in two weeks. I smellum' heap big stink. A block is a strike is a lock is a throw.
