Nirvana Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 Would you reccomend it? Also which style would you reccomend cross training it with, the styles I have available at my dojo are: Taekwondo Karate Freestyle Kickboxing Jujitsu Thanks in advance for your opinions
italian_guy Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 In principle I would say Jujitsu because is the only grappling style you mention. If you need to cross-train a striking art like Muay Thai it seems better to go for a grappling art. But on the end: do what you like more, try the lessons and see how you feel with the art, the instructor and also the classmates.
martialartsresearcher Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 Jiu-Jitsu. Hands down. WHy? Because first off. It an't easy to find a Jiu-jitsu school anywhere, per se. And seince jiu jitsu. Or at least most of the Jiu-jitsu styles are very broaden and complex. I think depending on the style of Jiu Jitsu your school teaches... I think jiu-Jitsu would be very cool to learn. however, im just going on what i belive and what my research tells me.Thanks. God bless, and good luck. See ya.
Pacificshore Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 Cross train in whatever area you feel deficient. Di'DaDeeeee!!!Mind of Mencia
SevenStar Posted January 22, 2004 Posted January 22, 2004 jiu jitsu - that way you train in both a standup and a striking style.
Guy_Mendiola Posted January 22, 2004 Posted January 22, 2004 It's good to take up a grappling art after a striking art and also the opposite because it's good to have a striking and a grappling background.
