Practice is the key _
Do you think people do the splits full splits in lessons when strecthing are show offs??? Some student told me that I was a show off I told them it is to increasds my flexibility and decresde injuries and others called me silly. My Sensei says its good for you and if you can do it do it. My Sensei always suppot me every sensei. But I cannot accept people saying that, so am not doing other type of spectacular kicks splits etc in lesson, so am strecthing at home than go to lesson. WolverineGuy
It's not showing off at all. I know that I, for one, usually rib my instructor about going into the splits like its nothing (I call him Master Gumby a lot). Are you sure you're not recieving the same thing? Rich_2k3
The ability to do the splits, shows u are able to kick high, faster, without injury and one hundred other things, the ability to do the splits is what all martial artists should strive to do even as they grow older and shows a good level of fitness, the hardest part is continuing to do so, cuz if u leave it a while u'll find that u no longer can. Its definatly not showing off, its just that their jealous that they cant!
