40 cent
ok first question is about breathing. when we are doing a fast count practising basics are you meant to breath and expel it with every count? the reason i ask is i find this very difficult, because the count gets quite fast. alternatively is it wise to hold one breath for say, two or three strikes and expel after that? i always thought you were meant to breath and expel on each individual technique however? with knuckle push ups, i am majorly doing them on my first two knuckles, however, my index finger does slightly touch the ground(not taking much pressure but it still touches) should i roll completely on the points of my knuckles or is this normal? thanks, grant
CanuckMA
Breath normally. AS for push ups, the index will touch slightly. The most important thing is a straight alignment of the wrist.
cathal
The wrist alignment is perpendicular to the floor? Or should it be on an angle? .The best victory is when the opponent surrendersof its own accord before there are any actualhostilities...It is best to win without fighting.- Sun-tzu
ESA-Shotokan
In theory, if you hold in your breath, you are weak. You should exhale with each technique, the idea being that in doing so, should you receive a counter blow, you are much less likely to be winded. I'd say breath fast, in and out, with each individual count.
aefibird
Try and breath in and out with each technique, but don't force yourself to do this if it doesn't feel natural to you or comfortable. Build up to it by breathing in on one technique and out on the next until you can breathe naturally in and out on each technique. Your index finger should touch the floor slightly with the push ups. Don't try and 'force' it not to, as you could damage your hands. "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..." The Beautiful South - The Rose of My CologneSheffield Steelers!
