aefibird Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 I have to admit to a liking for haggis, even though the thought of it is a bit gross. I also like "black pudding" , which is dried pigs blood in skin. The grossest thing I've ever eaten was a 'stew' that I had when I was in Ghana. It had chicken in it, but it wasn't prime breast meat I tell ya!! I also ate snake on a visit to Tanzania; it's quite nice actually. "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..." Drunken Monkey Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 well, disgust is a pretty complex subject and purely depends on the culture. anyway. things i have eaten that you might not fancy.... all sorts of cow insides. chicken feet. duck feet. duck's tongues. pig's feet. pig's ears. pig's lung (it was an interesting experience seeing the whole pig lung sitting in the sink). deep fried pig intestine. congealed pigs blood. snake. frog. seahorse was in a soup i had (yeah i know, it's illegal) blachan various 'wind dried' meats (but i had to refuse the dog) i also had to refuse a soup made with blue eggs... post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are."When you have to kill a man it costs nothing to be polite."
blue26 Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 Given no choice i'd say squid. I eat it faily often and it can be prepared many ways - steamed, deep fried, raw, sauteed etc. Yeah, I've eaten a lot of squid, but I don’t consider it disgusting, however I am highly against horseradish, lol "Follow not in the footsteps of the masters, but rather seek what they sought."
shotokanwarrior Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 Man beef is a favorite.mmm Where Art ends, nature begins.
Patrick Posted December 18, 2003 Posted December 18, 2003 I have actually had calamari rings, so that is "squid." That's probably the oddest thing I've eaten. I've managed to avoid the rest. If given no other choice, I would eat that again. Patrick O'Keefe - KarateForums.com AdministratorHave a suggestion or a bit of feedback relating to KarateForums.com? Warp Spider Posted December 18, 2003 Posted December 18, 2003 Well, hot dogs have intestines on them. And they're grrreat! Why I've half a mind to eat a dozen right now. Except I don't have any. Paladin - A holy beat down in the name of God!
angelica d Posted December 18, 2003 Posted December 18, 2003 Calamari rings must be the most gorgeous food ever! Hmm...I'm pretty open minded when it comes to food so I'd probably try most stuff. Black pudding freaks me out though. I'll eat a little bit and then realise what it is and suddenly feel very very ill! When I was younger I used to invent my own sandwich fillings tho, such as: Frozen peas, banana and lemon curd; marmalade, pringles and chocolate. Still cant' understand why people get so grossed out about it all! "Weaseling out of things is what separates us from the animals . . . except the weasel."- Homer J Simpson
Gloi Posted December 18, 2003 Posted December 18, 2003 mmm... my favourite sandwich fillings have included cornflakes, banana and chocolate sauce; cheese, chocolate and tinned mandarines; and the old Wigan standard - meat and potato pie and peas on a barm.
angelica d Posted December 18, 2003 Posted December 18, 2003 What about left over crispy beef in OK sauce from the takeaway with dark chocolate in a sandwich?!! Mmmmmmm....sandwiches "Weaseling out of things is what separates us from the animals . . . except the weasel."- Homer J Simpson
Martial_Artist Posted December 18, 2003 Author Posted December 18, 2003 When I wrote the squid one, I was drawing a blank. I should have put cooked blood. I like eating calamari rings, usually in a japanese sauce with other chopped seafoods. But, alas, I drew a blank and so I remembered all these Ex-Pats who claimed they hated eating squid. So, I put that instead. BTW, cooked pig's blood or chicken blood is quite untasty.
